Lorraine J. McKean, 91, Berne, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at Swiss Village.
Among survivors are two sons, Richard “Dick” (Janet) McKean of Berne; and William “Bill” (Linda) McKean of Berne; two daughters, Carol (James) Buckingham of Geneva; and Barb (Gregg) Sprunger of Berne; sister, Elmira Wulliman of Berne; 10 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Maxine T. Jauregui, 79, Decatur, died on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014. Maxine was born in Littleton, Maine on Nov. 17, 1934, to the late Elbridge and Hazel (Wiley) Elliott. On September 15, 1954, she married Joseph R. Jauregui.
Maxine was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Women of St. Mary’s. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Rosella Mae Rekeweg, 83, Decatur, passed away at 1:48 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, in Adams Woodcrest, where she had been a resident since September.
Rosella was born in Decatur Friday, Oct. 31, 1930, to the late Reinhard and Wilma (Wefel) Werling. She married her husband of 63 years, Edgar William Rekeweg, Oct. 6, 1951, in St. Paul Lutheran Church-Preble; he survives in Decatur.
Maxine T. Jauregui, 79, Decatur, died Thursday. Arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Christopher Douglas Copeland, 44, of Geneva, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Among survivors are his wife, Amanda (Vaughn) Copeland of Geneva; mother, Lola Irene Smith of Livingston, Tenn.; two sons, Mitchell Douglas and Christopher Jacob Copeland, both of Geneva; daughter, Evana Stella Copeland of Geneva; two brothers, Jeff Copeland and Jamie (Marsha) Vaughn, both of Livingston; and sister, Melanie Breeding of Livingston.
Carol Ann Timmons, 50, Monroe, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Bluffton on Oct. 4, 1964, to the late Bob and Martha (Heller) Walburn. Carol married Tim Timmons in Bluffton on Oct. 24, 1987; he survives.
Christopher Copeland, 44, Geneva, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014. Arrangements are pending at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home.
Ward W. “Whitie” Chapman, 91, of Huntington and formerly of Decatur, passed away Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital.
He was born in Monroeville Monday, Oct. 15, 1923, to the late Jay W. and Eva Z. (Simons) Chapman. He married Bernice M. Green on July 26, 1952, in Fort Wayne; she preceded him in death on April 2, 2005.
Harold Walden Nussbaum, 89, Berne, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at his residence.
Among survivors are his wife, Marie Wiebe; foster daughter, Stephanie (Loan) Nussbaum Trinh of Houston, Texas; one sister, Doris (Fritz) Thomann of Noble, Ill.; and three brothers, David W. (Carolee) Nussbaum of Berne; Charles E. (Mary) and A. John (Marilyn) Nussbaum, both of Fort Wayne.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Church, with Jeff Linthicum and Jerry Flueckiger officiating.
Catherine L. (Katie) Spiegel, 91, Sumter, S.C., passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at home in Sumter. She was born June 4, 1923, to the late David H. and Berneta (Reynolds) Teeple.
She graduated from Decatur Catholic High School in 1941. Following graduation she worked for Central Soya in Decatur.
She married Robert Spiegel June 1, 1946. Bob was career Air Force so they lived in Michigan, Germany, Colorado, Wyoming and finally Sumter.
