Darrell Grice

    Darrell Grice, 69, of Newburgh, Indiana, died Saturday.
    He was born on October 26, 1940, in Celina, Ohio, to Frank and Lavone Grice and was reared in Decatur.
    He graduated from Decatur High School.
    Surviving are his wife, Bonnie, whom he married 45 years ago; three children, Dell Grice, Janeen Paulson, and Jacqueline Grice; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Karen Roth of Florida; and his mother, who lives in Ossian.

Carolyn J. Brock

    Carolyn J. Brock, 76, of Decatur, died Friday at home.
    She was born to Theodore A. and Agnes I. Gaskill Waltmire.
    Among survivors are three sons, Roger L. Everett of Bluffton, Ronald A. Everett of Berne, and Robert E. Everett of Decatur; one brother, Russell E. Waltmire of Decatur; and three sisters, including Connie Goedde of Convoy, Ohio.
    Funeral services were held today, with burial in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, rural Decatur.

Rodney K. Lantz

    Rodney K. Lantz, 65, of Fort Wayne, a former Berne resident, died Saturday in Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
    He was born in Adams County on February 11, 1945, to Earl and Pauline Archbold Lantz, who are deceased.
    Among survivors are his wife, Jeanie, and two sisters, Mona Windmiller of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Dale (Carol) Hirschy of Gilford, New Hampshire.

Rick D. Voreis

    Rick D. Voreis, 49, Decatur, died Sunday in Adams Memorial Hospital.
    Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur.

Russell T. Stanley

October 15, 2010

    Russell T. Stanley, 82 of rural Ossian, died on October 13, 2010 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
    He was born on October 27, 1927, in Decatur to Ralph and Elsie (Schaefer) Stanley.
    Russell was a supervisor for Parker Hannifin.
    He is survived by three daughters, Joyce A. Stanley of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Anna Marie (Bob) Braeking of Santa Fe, Texas; and Cathy L. (Don) Crawford of Ossian; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

    Linda J. Dietzen, 51, of Syracuse, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2010, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
    Born in Regensburg, Germany, she grew up in Decatur, Indiana and worked as an au pair.
    She enjoyed cooking and music, but her passion was her family and her beloved grandson, with whom she shared a birthday.

    Earl M. Saunders III, 71, of rural Decatur, died at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at the Department of Veterans' Affairs Hospital in Fort Wayne.
    Born on July 1, 1939, in Christiansburg, Virginia, he was the son of Earl M. Saunders Jr. and Clara A. (Sowers) Saunders. His father preceded him in death.
    He married Judith D. Morlan on October 21, 1961, and she also preceded him in death, on September 28, 2007.

    Linda J. Dietzen, 51, of Syracuse, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2010, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
    Born in Regensburg, Germany, she grew up in Decatur, Indiana, and worked as au pair.
    She enjoyed cooking and music, but her passion was her family and her beloved grandson, with whom she shared a birthday.

Marjorie R. Sprunger

    Marjorie R. “Marge” Sprunger, 75, of Berne, passed away at 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital, Fort Wayne.
    She was born in Berne on August 28, 1935, to Calvin A. and Lulu (Stuckey) Sprunger, both deceased.
    Marge graduated from Berne-French High School in 1953 and from Lutheran Nursing School in Fort Wayne 1956.
    She was married to Paul J. Sprunger on September 22, 1957, in Berne.

Hazel Gerardot

    Hazel Gerardot, 89, a resident of Decatur for 65 years, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday in The Village of Heritage nursing home at Monroeville.    
    She was born on December 12, 1920, in Salem, Illinois, to Etta Vaughn Beck.
    She married Lawrence E. Gerardot on January 18, 1939, in St. Louis Catholic Church (Besancon); he passed away on April 15, 1997.
    Hazel was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, loved to play euchre, and was a homemaker.
