Roy Oscar Girod

    Roy Oscar Girod, Columbus, Ohio, died Thursday Sept. 25, 2014. 
    A memorial service was held in Columbus on Oct. 4, 2014.  Final internment is to be held at The Columbarium at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland at a date to be determined.

Lloyd Francis Lichtenberger

    Lloyd Francis Lichtenberger went to be with Jesus Monday, Oct. 13, 2014. He married Lorena Nussbaum April 7, 1951. They were married 58 years before she passed away in November of 2009. 
    They were blessed with five children, Sandra (Craig) Mountz of Brentwood, Tenn.; Rick Lichtenberger of Decatur; Kathy Keller of Grand Rapids, Minn.; Deb (Daniel) Abnet of Berne; and Tom (Ruth) Lichtenberger of Fort Wayne. He enjoyed his 12 grandchildren and13 great-grandchildren.

Jerry Parker

    Jerry “Hoss” Parker, 68, Monroeville, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at Riverbend Healthcare in Fort Wayne.   
    Among survivors are his two brothers, Larry (Janet) Parker of Decatur and Jan Parker of Monroeville.
    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, in Monroeville. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Homer Melching

    Homer Melching, 87, Bluffton, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton. He was born in Wells County on March 9, 1927, to the late Frank and Verna Melching. Homer married Lois V. “Ginger” Kleinknight on July 26, 1953; she preceded him in death on April 30, 2012.
    Among survivors are one grandson, Brett (Jamie) Melching of Monroe; one granddaughter, Tori Melching of Bluffton; one great-grandson, Trace Melching; and a sister, Nina Meyer of North Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Carol S. Thieme

    Carol S. Thieme, 70, Decatur, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at DuPont Hospital in Fort Wayne.
    She was born in Ionia, Mich., Saturday, Sept. 9, 1944, the daughter of the late Martin and Ottilie (List) Succop. She married James R. Thieme on Dec. 27, 1971, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne; he survives

Homer Melching

Shawn G. Yoquelet

    Shawn G. Yoquelet, 43, of Avilla, died on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, following a traffic accident in Noble County. He was born in Fort Wayne Friday, Oct. 30, 1970, to the late Byron J. and Colleen (Mossburg) Yoquelet.  He married Melissa J. Hudson July 24, 1989, in Van Wert.
    Shawn was a 1990 graduate of Bellmont High School and was a member of the Moose Lodge 33 in Muncie.

Betty I. Fager

    Betty I. Fager, 93, Decatur, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at St. Anne Home in Fort Wayne. Betty was born in Adams County Dec. 15, 1920, to the late Floyd B. and Esther L. (Binz) Hunter. She married Ray W. Fager on Sept. 27, 1957; he preceded her in death March 13, 1995.
    Betty was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and the Women’s Guild. She was a past president of Psi Iota Xi Sorority and worked for Adams County Memorial Hospital in medical records department for 20 years.

Karen S. Rowdon

    Karen S. Rowdon, 76, Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at Golden Years Homestead. She was born in Jay County Jan. 23, 1938, to the late Clarence L. and Gretchen E. (Buckingham) Snyder. On Oct. 21, 1959, she married William “Bill” Rowdon; he survives.
    Karen was a member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne. She was a homemaker and also worked for Lincoln Bank, Lehman Brothers Brokerage and East Allen County Schools.
