Walter E. Wheeler, 97, formerly of Monroe, died Saturday in Swiss Village Retirement Community at Berne.
He was born to Charles and Nora Wheeler.
Among survivors are a former wife, Edith I. Wheeler of Pleasant Mills; one son, Jim Wheeler of Terre Haute; two daughters, Judith King of Bluffton and Bonnie Cart of Monroe; one stepdaughter, Carol Hornaday of Mesa, Arizona; and two stepsons, Roger Call of Monroe and Robert Call of Summerville, South Carolina.
Jessie E. Bowers, 83, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2011, at Kingston Residence in Fort Wayne.
She was born on June 17, 1927 in Stigles, Oklahoma.
Surviving relatives include her children, Roxanne Chilcote and Vicki Frances of Fort Wayne and Barbara Hirschy of Decatur; siblings Walter Holloway, Clare Hanthorne, and Gert Bowser; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Roe A. Lehman, 77, of Berne, passed away on May 24, 2011 at 8 p.m. after suffering several years of Parkinson’s Disease and leukemia.
Roe was born on April 4, 1934, in Adams County to Peter B. and Elizabeth (Welty) Lehman.
He is survived by a son, Todd Lehman of rural Arcola, and two granddaughters, Emma and Tessa Lehman.
His daughter, Tandy, was fatally injured in a hayride accident of October of 1978.
Joel A. Neuenschwander, 82, of Berne, died Wednesday at Swiss Village Retirement Community.
He was born to Amos and Lovina Amstutz Neuenschwander.
Among survivors are three sons, Michael and Roger Neuenschwander of Berne and Allen Neuenschwander of Willshire, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Berne Evangelical Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-8 p.m. Friday in Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne, and one hour prior to services.
Carolyn J. Schmitt, 76, of Decatur, died today at home.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeeral Home, Decatur.
Delores M. Gerber, 87, of Decatur, died on Monday, May 23, 2011, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Delores was born on July 15, 1923, in Adams County to Harry and Emily (Bracht) Worden.
Delores was united in marriage to Robert M. Moser of Bluffton in the fall of 1941. On December 13, 1944, Second Lieutenant Moser was killed during an aircraft training mission in southeastern Missouri.
On August 23, 1947, she married Richard C. Gerber Sr. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2010.
Dolores M. Gerber, 87, of Decatur, died Monday in Adams Memorial Hospital.

Marie H. Hegemier, 69, of Sidney, Ohio, died at home on Saturday.
She was born in Decatur on August 11, 1941, to Kenneth and Ruth Holle Ohler.
Among survivors are her four children, Mrs. Steve (Kimberly) Fortney of Yukon, Oklahoma; Mrs. Theodore (Ruth) Henry of Wapakoneta, Ohio; Mrs. Jerry (Danielle) Tangeman of Sidney; and Janice Hegemier (and Marco Diaz) of New York, New York.
Berdella M. Liechty, 73, of Berne, died Monday in Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Adams County on June 16, 1937, to Orval and Marie Biberstein Alt.
She married Ernest R. Liechty on April 5, 1958; he survives.
She was active with her husband in a diversified livestock and grain farm, was very supportive of her church (First Mennonite Church at Berne), and was active in 4-H and FFA.
Mary Millington Pratt, 87, of Decatur, died on Friday in the nursing center at Woodcrest Retirement Community.
She married George W. Millington on December 23, 1939 in Decatur and he passed away on January 29, 1967. In 1975, she married Walter E. Pratt and he passed away in 1998.
She worked for 20 years with the Adams-Wells Association for the Retarded and Handicapped and attended Cornerstone Church, formerly known as Decatur Missionary Church.
