Lucile M. Gelzleichter, 91, of Fort Wayne, a former Decatur resident, died on Sunday in Fort Wayne.
She was born in Decatur on November 27, 1919, to Lawrence and Matilda Rumschlag Braun.
Among survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Kevin (Kathy) Ethier of Mishawaka, and four sons, Ken Gelzleichter of Lewisville, Texas; Jim Gelzleichter of New Haven; Dave Gelzleichter of Poe; and Tom Gelzleichter of Brisbane, California.
Carol Ann Gresley, 56, of Hoagland, died at 1:02 p.m. Sunday in Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home of Fort Wayne, following an illness that lasted seven years.
She was born on September 30, 1955, in Fort Wayne to Donald F. and Violet M. Poehler Bohnke. Her father is deceased; her mother lives in Monroeville.
She married Don C. Gresley on September 22, 1984, in St. John Lutheran Church (Flatrock); he also survives.
Raymond C. "Bing" Johnson, 88, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011, in the nursing center at Woodcrest Retirement Community.
He was born on September 30, 1923, in Decatur to Edward and Maude Kurtz Johnson.
He married Helen M. Ward on December 1, 1956; she died in September of 2000.
"Bing" was a member of Decatur Church of Christ and American Legion Post 43 in Decatur. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
Richard H. "Dick" Allspaw, 78, of Monroe, passed away on Saturday morning, October 22, 2011, at home.
He was born on June 28, 1933, to Robert and Harriet (Humphries) Allspaw in Berne.
He married Sharon Walker on June 8, 1969.
He graduated from Berne-French High School and Taylor University at Upland, Indiana. and earned a masters degree from Ball State University at Muncie.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 -57.
Denise R. Brite, 50, of Bluffton, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Denise was born in Decatur on February 14, 1961, to Joseph J. and Shirley N. (Hirschy) Brite.
Dolores M. Harshman, 89, of Kendallville, Indiana, formerly of Decatur, passed away at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.
She was born on October 1, 1922, in Decatur to Frank J. and Mary Geimer Bentz, one of her 11 children.
She married Dale R. Harshman on August 22, 1942, and he passed away in 1996.
After starting out in a tiny apartment, they purchased a 40-acre farm east of Decatur.
Raymond C. "Bing" Johnson, 88, of Decatur, died today in the nursing center at Woodcrest Retirement Community.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur.
Doris B. (Spiegel) Koomler, 86, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Doris was born on April 6, 1925, in Adams County to William M. and Myrtle M. (Manley) Jones.
On February 24, 1946, she married Lloyd R. Spiegel; he preceded her in death on February 22, 1977. On May 2, 1981, she married Gerald Koomler; he also preceded her in death, on November 10, 2008.
Doris was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur.
Betty L. Schumm, 90, a lifetime resident of the Rockford, Ohio, area, died Saturday.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Vincent (Helen) Muntzinger of Fort Wayne, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Zion Lutheran Church at Schumm, Ohio, with burial in the church cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-8 p.m. Wednesday in Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home at Rockford.
Amy L. Bemus, 76, of Decatur, formerly of Sidney, Ohio, and Louisville, Kentucky, passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 15, 2011.
Amy was born in Sidney, Ohio, on July 11, 1935, to Clarence A. and Isabel (Cotterman) Holly.
On June 9, 1956, Amy married Denton E. Bemus.
Amy was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and its Rosary Society.
She was a 1953 graduate of Sidney High School in Sidney, Ohio.
