Pauline M. Lehman

September 12, 2011

    Pauline M. Lehman, 86, of Berne, passed away on Saturday, September 10, in Parkview Hospital at Fort Wayne.
    She was born to Albert and Eva Liddy Huser on February 21, 1925, in Adams County.
    She married Maynard "Miz" Lehman on July 30, 1944, he survives.
    She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her family first.

Ferne A. Painter

    Ferne Alta Painter, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
    Born in Adams County, Ferne worked at General Electric for 39 years, retiring in 1979.
    She graduated from Monroeville High School 1937.
    She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, the GE Elex Club, and the GE Quarter-Century Club.
    Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Elnora L. Bebout

    Elnora Lou Bebout, 86, of Decatur, died on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Woodcrest Retirement Community's Nursing Center.
    She was born on December 11, 1924, in Allen County, Indiana, to Donald and Edith (Johnson) Morrison.
    Elnora married C. Eugene Bebout on April 5, 1946. He preceded her in death on September 26, 2004.
    Elnora was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and had worked for General Electric, retiring in 1987 after 25 years of service.

Lynn D. Fuhrmann

    Lynn Dale Fuhrmann, 51, of rural Decatur, died at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday in Parkview Hospital at Fort Wayne as a result of congestive heart failure, which had affected him for many years.
    He was born on February 17, 1960, in Decatur to Paul and Adelinda M. Buuck Fuhrmann. His father passed away on March 22, 2010, and his mother passed away on October 1, 1979.
    He was a lifelong Adams County farmer and a former employee of North American Van Lines (SIRVA) as a truck mechanic.

    Elnora L. Bebout, 86, of Decatur, died on Wednesday in the nursing center at Woodcrest Retirement Community.
    Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur.

Thomas J. Alberding

September 7, 2011

    Thomas J. Alberding, 51, of Decatur, died on Monday, September 5, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
    Tom was born in Decatur, Indiana, on July 28, 1960, to Leo W. and Mary L. (Geimer) Alberding.
    On July 30, 2010, he married Sara E. Webb.
    Tom was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and its Holy Name Society. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus Chapter 864 in Decatur, of which he was a past Grand Knight.

Melvin Whitesel

    Melvin “Dean” Whitesel, 85, of Fort Wayne, died at 3:15 a.m. on September 3, 2011.
    Born on July 19, 1926, in Richvalley, Indiana, he was the son of Paul and Ethyl L. (Harwood) Whitesel.
    He married Wilma May Clark of North Manchester on January 28, 1946; she died on March 23, 2008.
    He attended school at Linlawn of Wabash County and later went to Purdue University at Fort Wayne.

    Thomas J. Alberding, 51, of Decatur, died on Monday in Lutheran Hospital at Fort Wayne.
    Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur.

William S. Gravens

September 6, 2011

    William S. "Billy" Gravens, 43, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, September 3, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
    He was born on April 5, 1968, to William S. and Ann E. McElman Gravens, who are deceased.
    Billy was the former manager of the Clark Oil Co. station in Decatur and attended Decatur Church of God.

Rosemary Puterbaugh

    Rosemary Puterbaugh, 72, of Geneva, died Friday at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne.
    She was born November 13, 1938, in Portland,  the daughter of Ivan and Hazel (Whitacre) Beals. 
    Surviving are two sons, Curt (Melissa) Puterbaugh of Portland and David (Carmen) Puterbaugh of Geneva; one brother Ralph Beals of Florida; and three grandchildren.
    She had worked for NAPA in Portland and Berne for 35 years and most recently for the Town of Geneva as deputy clerk-treasurer.
