Ray Feaster

    Ray Feaster, 93, Geneva, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Swiss Village Retirement Center in Berne. 
    Survivors include his wife, Eunice (Wilson) Feaster of Berne; two daughters, Leota (Doug) David and Janice Wolford, both of Geneva; a son, Alfred (Linda) Feaster Jr. of Berne; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five  great-great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Downing and Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Gevena, with Wayne Steury officiating.

    Patricia R. (Patty) Vergara, 69, of Decatur, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    Patty was born on July 19, 1944, in Adams County to the late John A. and Marcella F. (Keller) Loshe.
    Patty was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Patty retired in 2010 after 33 ½ years of service with the City of Decatur as deputy clerk treasurer.

Barbara Lou Gill

    Barbara Lou Gill, 82, died Monday, May 12, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne. 
    Surviving are two daughters, Ruth (David) Bracey of Decatur and Cindy Johnson of Kendallville; two granddaughters, Michelle (Chris) Zimmerman and Janelle Bracey, both of Decatur; a grandson, Matthew Bracey of Fort Wayne; a great-grandchild, Mya Zimmerman; a sister, Shirley Dellinger of California; and two nephews, Danny and David Reed, both of Fort Wayne.

    Polly A. Alexander, 68, Fort Wayne, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at her residence.
    Polly was born Oct. 11, 1945, in Decatur to the late Hollis D. and Kathryn V. (Hook) Bonifas.
    She married Martin P. “Marty” Alexander III July 24,1965; he preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 2013.
    Polly was an administrative assistant for the DeKalb Central United Schools.

Donald W. Barger

    Donald W. Barger, 76, rural Decatur, died Monday, May 12, 2014, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
    Don was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Adams County to the late Floyd G. and Merle (Plummer) Barger.
    He married his wife of 50 years, Sharon D. Garton, March 7, 1964; she survives.

    Patricia Vergara, 69, Decatur, died Tuesday morning.
    Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home.

Patsy R. Sites

    Patsy Rosemary Sites, 80, Van Wert, passed away at 12:02 p.m. Friday, at her residence.
    She was born May 9, 1934, in Decatur to the late Adam and Hazel (Cook) Johnson.
    She married the late Omar Sites Jr.; he preceded her in death.
    Patsy enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, playing bingo and fishing. She was a homemaker.

Walter G. Werst

    Walter G. Werst, 75, Decatur, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at his residence.
    He was born Aug. 27, 1938, in Decatur, to the late Chalmer T. and Marie (Sudduth) Werst.
    He married his wife of 52 years, Carolyn K. (Fisher) Jan. 6, 1962; she survives.
    Walter was a machine operator for Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne, where he retired in 1996 after 35 years of service.

    Zoey Nicole Smith, 20 days old, Berne, passed away May 10, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital.
    She was born April 20, 2014, to Jarred and Amber(Crider) Smith of Berne.
    Surviving are a sister, Brooklynn J. Smith of Berne; grandmother, Amee Crider of Berne; grandfather, Robert H. Smith of Bluffton; grandmother, Verna Garrett; step-grandfather, Don Garrett of Alexandria; and great-grandmother, Audrey Steury of Berne.

Betty K. Knittle

    Betty K. Knittle, 92, Decatur, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur.
    She was born Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1921, in Adams County, the daughter of the late Louie and Oria (Richard) Drake. 
    She married Chalmer Knittle Oct. 21, 1939, in Decatur; he passed away Aug. 8, 1998.
    Betty was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Decatur and the Ladies Society of the church.
