Walter H. Biedermann, 80, of Palm Coast, Florida, formerly of Decatur, died on November 12, 2011, at his residence.
Walter was born in Mannheim, Germany on August 22, 1931, to Heinrich and Hermine Konig Biedermann.
He married Helen Joan Johnson, who survives.
Walter lived in Decatur for 43 years and lived in Florida the past 10 years.
Walter attended St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Decatur and was a member of the Lutheran Church in Mannheim.
Charles G. “Hank” Henkenius, 77, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Charles was born on October 29, 1934, in Fort Wayne to Charles C. and Emma (Forsythe) Henkenius.
He married Jean M. Kable on August 27, 1960. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2001.
Charles was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur. He worked for Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne and was a member of Moose Lodge 1311 in Decatur.
Katharina Lehr, 87, of Saratoga Springs, New York, a former Decatur resident, died at 1:25 a.m. Sunday in Saratoga Springs, where she had moved from Decatur in 2003 to live with her son.
She was born in Ukraine, then part of the Soviet Union, on April 26, 1924 to Johann and Sara Goertz Wiebe.
She married Waldemar Lehr in 1949 in Germany; he passed away in 1954.
Donald J. Sprunger, 96, of Berne, died on Monday in Swiss Village Retirement Community.
He was born in Adams County on April 16, 1915, to Robert L. and Rhoda Liechty Sprunger.
Among survivors are a daughter, Jane Bean of Berne; three sons, Reggie Steiner of Berne; Phillip Sprunger of Bluffton, Ohio; and Dennis Sprunger of Fort Wayne; and a stepdaughter, Mrs. James (Margo) Loguidice of Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
John H. Worley, 67, formerly of Geneva, died Saturday in Miller's Merry Manor at Hartford City.
He was born to Claude and Maude Worley.
Among survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Bob (Linda K.) Crandall of Three Rivers, Michigan, and two sons, Larry A. Worley of Geneva and John H. Worley Jr. of Portland.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Downing and Glancy Funeral Home, Geneva, with burial in West Lawn Cemetery at Geneva. Visiting hours are until 2 p.m. today.
Nelson Billington, 86, of Berne, died November 24 in Lutheran Hospital at Fort Wayne.
He was born to William and Mabel Jackson Billington.
Among survivors are a daughter, Debbie Billington of Allen County; three sons, Terry, Steve, and Jeff Billington, all of Bryant; three sisters; and four brothers, including Bill Billington of Decatur.
There will be no funeral or visitation. Burial will be later in Westlawn Cemetery at Geneva.
Virginia L. Hower, 85, of Bluffton, died Friday in Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
She was born to John "Frank" and Mary C. Davis Helblig.
Among survivors are one son, Brice Hower of Bluffton, and seven daughters, Loretta Drew and Brycella Roth of New Haven, Rosie Hower of Decatur, and Mrs. Pat (Connie) Durham Jr., Mrs. Rob (Karen) Trenten, Mrs. Steve (Lora) Esterhia, and Patti Hower, all of Bluffton.
Katharina Lehr, 87, a former rural Decatur resident, died Sunday in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.
Jack Edward Schnepf, 89, passed away on November 24, 2011, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Jack was born on October 11, 1922, in Alvord, Iowa. He was one of 10 children born to William and Stella Schnepf.
The family relocated to Decatur, where he remained until 2006. He then moved to Louisville, Kentucky, to be closer to family.
Jack was a farmer, a General Electric worker, and a Central Soya employee, and eventually became an artist, weaving unique works of art.
