Robert G. Miller, 89, of Berne, died Friday at home.
He was born to Charles O. and Della Ehrsam Miller.
Among survivors are his wife, Louise; three sons, David Miller of Wellsville, New York; Phillip Miller of Summers, Arkansas; and John Miller of Berne; and three daughters, Janet Miller, Mrs. Jack (Sue) Shoaf, and Mrs. Bob (Sara) Sprunger, all of Berne.
Florence L. O'Shaughnessey, 85, of Decatur, died Sunday in Adams Memorial Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur.
John H. Poorman, 84, a resident of Berne, passed away at 8:40 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011, at Swiss Village Retirement Community.
John was born on January 10, 1927, in Coles, Illinois, the son of Charles L. and Grayce (Kruger) Poorman.
He married Norma Schindler on February 14, 1947, in the parsonage of West Missionary Church in rural Berne.
Doris L. Ulery, 81, of Lake Jackson, Texas, died March 20 in Texas.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Norm (Susan) Pollock of Decatur, and two sons, Dan Ulery of Pinnacle, North Carolina, and John Ulery of Lake Jackson. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, in the Church of the Brethren at Logansport, where Mrs. Ulery formerly lived.
Local arrangements were by Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur.
March 25th
Leona M. Amburgey, 81, formerly of Willshire, Ohio, died Thursday in Colonial Nursing Center at Rockford, Ohio.
She was born to Roy and Goldie Bollenbacher Luginbill.
Among survivors are two daughters, Rita Amburgey and Mrs. Randy (Nina) Habegger of Willshire.
Patricia Ann Gerber, 81, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at her home in Fort Wayne following an extended illness.
She was born in Decatur and was a former resident of Ossian and Cedarville, Michigan.
She was a member of Woodburn Missionary Church.
Katie S. Schwartz, one day old, of rural Berne, died Thursday in Lutheran Hospital at Fort Wayne.
She was born on Wednesday in Decatur to Samuel J. and Mandy J.E. Girod Schwartz of rural Berne.
The family belongs to the Old Order Amish.
March 24th
Grace E. Heemstra, 91, Berne, died Wednesday in Swiss Village Retirement Community.
She was born to Ira C. and Nina Burgess Hinkle.
Surviving are a stepson, Ted Heemstra of Fort Wayne, and a stepdaughter, Nancy Yeager of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel at Swiss Village, with graveside services at 2 p.m. in Maplewood Cemetery at Reading, Michigan. Visitation is 9-10 a.m. Friday in the Swiss Village chapel.
March 23rd
Faye Lois Fritzinger, 83, formerly of rural Decatur, died at 10:07 a.m. Tuesday in Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home at Fort Wayne.
She was born on August 5, 1927, in Paulding County, Ohio, to Charles E. and Emma M. Lehman Vance.
She married Arthur N. Fritzinger on April 28, 1951; he survives.
She retired in 1989 from Automatic Sprinkler at Monroe with 20 years of service and previously worked for seven years at General Electric in Fort Wayne.
Louise G. Johns, 100, of Van Wert, Ohio, died at 4 a.m. Monday in the Van Wert In-Patient Hospice Center.
She was born in Adams County on September 30, 1910, to William Thomas and Charlotte Ruth Voltz Johns.
She was a 1928 graduate of Pleasant Mills High School and retired from Continental Can Co. (Grief Brothers) in Van Wert. She was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church in America.
