Ronald “Robbie” R. Kemezy, 45, of Bluffton, formally of Muncie, died Saturday at his residence.
He was born to Ronald G. (Ann) Kemezy and Patti B. (Gene L.) Ruse; both survive. Other survivors include one brother and three sisters, including Tammy J. Dobbels of Decatur.
A graveside service and burial will occur at a later date at Brookeside Memorial Park, in Montpelier. Arrangements were by Goodwin Memorial Chapel, Bluffton.
Mary E. Smeltzer-Shaw, 66, of Decatur, passed away at 7 a.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Wells County on December 4, 1945, to the late Edwin R. and Isabelle M. (Franklin) Smeltzer, Jr.
Lucile A. Trentham, 79, of Decatur, passed away Sunday morning at Lutheran Hospital.
Lucile was born on April l9, 1933, in Butler, Indiana, to the late Gerald and Edna (Greer) Trentham.
She married Tom Trentham, who is deceased.
Lucile attended Mt. Hope of the Nazarene Church near Berne. While staying in DeLand, Florida, she worked as an electronic technician at General Dynamics. Lucile enjoyed NASCAR racing, cooking, baking, working puzzle books, and loved her family.
Eleanora D. Ahr, 81, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012.
Born in Fort Wayne, Eleanora had worked as a secretary throughout her life for Kroger Division Office, Dilgards, and the Fort Wayne city government. She attended New Haven United Methodist Church and was a past member of the MPO. She was a very faithful person who read the Upper Room daily, liked to vacation in Sanibel Island, and loved being known as 'Baba'.
Mary E. Smeltzer-Shaw, 66, of Decatur, died at 7 a.m. Sunday at her residence.
Calling will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Funeral services will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday. A private family burial will be Friday at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton.
A complete obituary notice will be provided for Tuesday's edition of the Democrat, the funeral home said.
Albert Edwin Koehler, 80, of Berne, passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at the Swiss Village Retirement Center, in Berne.
He was born on Sunday, May 08, 1932, in New Albany, Indiana.
He married Barbara Sue (Zonker) on Saturday, November 15, 1980, in Berne.
Mr. Koehler retired in 1994 from teaching. He taught at South Adams from 1964 to 1967 and at Jay County from 1968 to 1994. He was a graduate of Purdue University.
Carl L. Lichtenberger, 79, of rural Decatur, died on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
Carl was born in Van Wert County on May 27, 1932, to the late William H. and Ina M. (Finkhousen) Lichtenberger.
On April 18, 1954, Carl married Annabelle M. Shaffer.
Carl was a member of the formal Decatur Missionary Church and attended Mt. Zion U.B. Church in Bobo.
Gilbert Paul Blomenberg, 94 of Seward, Nebraska, died May 13, 2012 in York, Nebraska.
Gilbert was born on January 20, 1918, to Martin Conrad and Esther Johanna (Preuss) Blomenberg at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Shortly after his baptism, his parents moved to the Blomenberg farm located near Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preble Township, between Decatur and Poe, to reside with his paternal grandparents, Friederich and Wilhemine (Witte) Blomenberg.
Carl Lichtenberger, 79, of Decatur, died Wednesday at the Van Wert Hospice Center.
Arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Marggie Solano, 89, Berne, died Tuesday at her residence.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann (Joe) Tilbury, Berne; sons, David (Pauline) Solano, Riverside, Calif., and Ruben (Janet) Solano, Berne.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Trinity Methodist Church, with calling one hour prior to services.
Burial will be in MRE Cemetery.
