Mildred E. Bird, 87, Decatur, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at her residence. â€¨
She was born Sunday, Oct. 17, 1926, in South Norwalk, Conn. the daughter of the late Henry J. and Hazel M. (Arnold) Deysenroth.
She married John W. “Bill” Bird Sr. Dec. 15, 1945; he passed away Jan. 21, 1993. â€¨
Infant David Schwartz, Berne, was stillborn at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include his parents, Henry B. and Emma A. Schwartz; four brothers and two sisters, all of Berne.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Blue Creek Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Downing and Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva.

Dean R. Singleton, 64, Decatur, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was born Tuesday, May 2, 1950, in Decatur, the son of the late Everett Clark and Helen Marie (Hoover) Singleton.
He married Tamara K. Baumgartner Nov. 2, 2007, in Decatur; she survives.
William D. Henley, 87, Geneva, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at his residence in Geneva.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline; three daughters, Judith Ann Fogler of Normal, Ill., Diana Kay Mikkleson of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Nancy Henley Anderson, Ladysmith, Wisc.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Dean R. Singleton, 64, rural Decatur, died Monday at the Adams Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.
Joseph Francis Kohne, 73, Monroe, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born Aug. 24, 1940, in Decatur, to the late William and Elizabeth (Kintz) Kohne.
Joe married Karen K. Zimmerman Feb.10, 1962; she died May 24, 2000.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Msgr. J.J. Seimetz Council 864. Joe was a member of the American Legion Post 43. He was a self-employed farmer.
Parker Alexander Nash, infant son, was stillborn Friday, May 30, 2014 in Fort Wayne.
He is survived by his parents Jarud N. and Jennifer L. (Steenburg) Nash of Markle; a brother, Logan J. Nash of Markle; and grandparents, Paul and Lynn Steenburg of Geneva.
He was preceded is death by his grandmother, Amy Nash.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the MRE Cemetery, Berne with Pastor Jerry Flueckiger officiating.
Emma K. “Kate” Burkhart, 90, Decatur, died Friday, May 30, 2014, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 6, 1924, in Geneva, to the late Edward and Myrtle (Fogle) Fennig.
She married Lester Burkhart on April 6, 1947; he preceded her in death May 7, 2012.
Emma was a member of Zion United Church of Christ where she served on the Women’s Guild. She was a homemaker and worked at General Electric in Decatur and C.T.S. in Berne.
Mary C. Weber, 91, Decatur, died Thursday, May 29, 2014, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 8, 1922, in Adams County, to the late Groce W. and Artis M. (Welker) Tope.
She married her husband of 48 years, Joseph "Joe" A. Weber Nov. 25, 1965.
Mary was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors are a daughter, Kristina M. (Tim) Adams of Decatur; and four grandchildren.
