Geraldine "Gerry" McKay Townsend, age 88, passed away July 2, 2013, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
Gerry was born April 18, 1925, in Florenceville, New Brunswick, Canada, to Charles R. and Helen Orchard McKay.
Gerry was a member of Brookside Church in Fort Wayne and had worked as a dental assistant for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmorther, whose life revolved around her family, whom she loved dearly.
Milton H. Brown, 74, of Decatur, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 30, 2013.
Milton was born on January 14, 1939, in Indianapolis to the late Arthur A. and Mildred R. (Miller) Brown.
On December 29, 1990, he married Linda K. Litchfield; she survives in Decatur.
Milton worked as an electronic repair man and was the owner/operator of L & M Communications. He was a member of the Eagles R/C Club, where he served as past president.
Kenneth R. Curtis, 53, of rural Bryant, died Thursday at his residence.
Among survivors are his wife, Tonya E. (Hirschy) Curtis of Bryant; son, Chris R. (Laura) Curtis of Portland.; daughter, Jackie P. Curtis of Bryant; and sister, Debbie Gibson of Berne.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today and 2-3 p.m. Tuesday at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, Geneva. Funeral Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.
Todd K. Hockemeyer, 51, of Hoagland, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne following an apparent heart attack at his residence.
Todd was born Monday, May 28, 1962, in Decatur, to the late Kenneth W. Hockemeyer, who passed away October 1, 2003, and Marjorie (Bultemeier) Price.
He married Carla Spieth on September 14, 1985, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Haven; she survives in Hoagland.
Donald Fredrick Snow, 84, of Geneva, died Sunday at Chalet Village Health & Rehabilitation in Berne.
Among survivors are his wife, Margaret (Cook) Snow of Geneva and two daughters, Lisa (Ed) Neuenschwander of Fort Wayne and Julie Snow of Geneva..
Visitation will be from 6-9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Bible Church in Berne. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.
Violet I. LaBrun, 92, of Chattanooga, Ohio, died Thursday.
Arrangements are pending at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne.
Dennis "Denny" Michael Atkinson, 64, of Montpelier, died Monday at Markle Health Care in Markle.
Among survivors are his mother, Norma “Joan” Lodge of Marion; wife, Martha Atkinson of Montpelier; son, Dennis Wygant of Berne; two daughters, Julie Wygant and Favor Stanford, both of Berne; and stepson, Shawn Uptgraft of Fort Wayne.
Per his request, there will be no viewing or services.
Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier.
James F. “Jim” Klenk, 74, of Decatur, passed away Monday, June 25, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
Jim was born on April 19, 1939, in Decatur to the late Ferdinand and Frances Josephine “Jo” (Hall) Klenk.
On September 5, 1981, he married Sandra L. Dewells; she survives in Decatur.
Thomas E. Levy, 60, Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton.
Born in Logansport, Ind., Tom was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. When he was in school, he ran track and was very involved in sports. Tom graduated from Snider in 1971 and was accepted into the pharmaceutical program at Purdue upon graduating. He loved to play cards and fish. Tom absolutely loved celebrating every holiday on the calendar.
Ruben M. Schwartz, 70, of Berne, died Tuesday at his residence.
Among survivors are his wife, Ada E.(Wickey) Schwartz of Berne; son, Leander A.R. (Mandy E.) Schwartz of Berne; six daughters, Mary A.R. (Solomn S.) Wickey of Auburn; Lucy A.R. (Jacob E.R.) Girod and Judy A.R. (James N.) Girod, both of Berne; Ruth A.R. (Reuben E.J.) Schwartz, Elma A.R. (Enos E.J.) Schwartz, and Ada A.R. (William L.) Christner, all of Bryant; 74 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
