Deborah R. Cross

    Deborah R. Cross, 52, of Middle Point, Ohio, passed away Monday, May 6, at her residence.
    Deborah was born February 14, 1961, in Decatur, to Kenny and Kathy (Ratliff) Prichard; her father preceded her in death.
    She enjoyed gardening, animals, cooking, and riding motorcycles. She was a customer service representative at several places, and she was employed at Hearth & Home in Van Wert, Ohio, when she passed.

Daniel R. Everett

    Daniel R. Everett, 83, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Woodcrest Nursing Center. Dan was born Saturday, August 17, 1929, in Adams County to the late Perry and Bessie (Irwin) Everett.
    He married Lois D. Buuck on September 12, 1948, in Decatur; she passed away on March 7, 2007.

Mary E. Martin

    Mary Ellen Martin, 91, of Vera Cruz, passed away at 10 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
    Born on January 22, 1922, in Keenesburg, Ill., to the late James C. and Mary M. (Hedge) Lovellette, Mary married Ervin O. Martin in Monroe, on May 16, 1937; he preceded her in death on April 8, 1987.

Paul T. Stuckey

    Paul T. Stuckey, 95, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Coventry Meadows LLC in Fort Wayne.
    Born in Indianapolis, Paul worked as a custodian with Fort Wayne Community Schools for 20 years, retiring in 1980, and also in security at Raytheon until he was 90 years old. Paul was a U S Marine Corps WW II Panama Canal veteran.

Vernon D. Liechty

    Vernon D. Liechty, 85, of Berne, passed away on May 6, 2013, at his home.
    Vernon was born March 16, 1928, to the late Paul E. and Sarah A. (Felber) Liechty.
    He married Ava Kraft on May 10, 1959, in Decatur; she preceded him in death.

John D. Pyle

May 8, 2013

    John D. Pyle, 61, of Geneva, died Tuesday in Adams Memorial Hospital.
    Among survivors are his wife, Cynthia M. (Zuercher) Pyle of Geneva, and  two daughters, Sara M. Haines of Geneva and Deanna S. Hackman of Berne;.
    Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
    Burial will follow at a later date in the Daugherty Cemetery in Bryant.

Ted W. Schwartz

    Ted W. Schwartz, 63, of Berne, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013, at his home.
    Ted was born to the late Ernest and Ruth (Nussbaum) Schwartz on May 7, 1949, in Adams County.
    He married Lana Sprunger on July 10, 1971; she survives in Berne.

Mary Lou Prater

    Mary Lou Prater, 76, of Winona Lake, Ind., passed away at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at her residence.
    Mary Lou was born on July 15, 1936, in Decatur, to the late Herbert “Pete” and Cladie (Ramsey) Irwin.
    She married George Prater on February 29, 2012, in Warsaw; he survives in Winona Lake.

Estina Veit

    Estina M. Veit, 86, of Fort Wayne, and a former longtime resident of Hoagland,  passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013.
    Estina married Paul C. Veit on June 6, 1948; he died November 26, 1993.
    Estina was an accomplished musician and played the accordion for “Touch of Music” for 18 years.

Irena Sprunger

    Irena Sprunger, 94, Berne, died Thursday at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    Among survivors are two stepsons, Charles (Geraldine) Sprunger of Trappe, Penn., and Wilmer (Kenlyn) Sprunger of Berne; two stepdaughters, Jeannette (Thomas) Bechtel of Goshen, and Shirley (Vernon) King of Boiling Springs, Penn.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
