Alice McClure

September 30, 2013

    Alice Jeanne McClure, 92, of Decatur, died Sept. 27, 2013 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur.
    Alice was born on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 1921 in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Henry and Catherine (Toohey) Weichman. She married the late John H. McClure on May 9, 1942 in Des Moines and he passed away on Oct. 11, 2006.

Roger D. Miller

   Roger Dean Miller, 71, of Berne, passed away on Sept. 27, 2013 at Swiss Village. He was born May 6, 1942 to Maurice and Edith (Habegger) Miller.
    He graduated from Berne-French High School and was in a computer programmer training program established for disabled individuals by IBM in Indianapolis. He retired from IBM at Lincoln Life as an Information Technology Specialist. Roger also worked for Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, Mutual Security Life Company and E.P. Graphics in Berne.

Eltalka R. Bentz

September 27, 2013

    Eltalka Rose "Dollie" Bentz, 89, Decatur, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
    She was born in Adams County on Oct. 19, 1923, to the late James C. and Ada (Death) Everett Sr. She married Leo G. Bentz on July 29, 1950; he preceded her in death on June 19, 2001.
    Dollie was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. She was a homemaker and also worked for GE of Decatur. She was active volunteer at Woodcrest.

    Florence A. Engle, 98, Decatur, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013. Arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home.

Ann Kahlert

September 27, 2013

    Ann (Horner) Kahlert, 81, Berne, passed away peacefully at her home on Sept. 25, 2013.
     She was born to the late Klemens and Katharina (Flink) Horner on Nov. 11, 1931, in Katharinental, Ukraine. Before her marriage in 1959 to Josef N. Kahlert, she held a position in Stuttgart, Germany. After arriving in the United States on Sept. 25, 1955, she was the assistant koechin at the St. Alexius Hospital in Bismark, N.D.

    Ned S. Bearman, 75 of Angola, IN died at his residence Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013. Arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.

Jonas J. Graber Sr.

September 25, 2013

    Jonas J. Graber Sr., 69, rural Geneva, died Sept. 24, 2013.
    He was born to Jonas Graber and Margaret Schwartz on Feb. 26, 1944 in Adams County. He married Mattie Lambright on March 31, 1966 and she survives.
    Jonas was a member of the Old Order Amish Church where he was bishop in the East Amish Church. He was a carpenter by trade.
    Among survivors are 15 children; 115 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Marjorie M. Stucky

    Marjorie M. Stucky, 94, Berne, died on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Swiss Village Retirement Community.
    She was born Aug. 11, 1919, to Henry and Mary (Reineck) Dotterer in Bluffton. She married the late Earl M. Stuckey on Oct. 12, 1940, in Monroe.
    Marjorie graduated from Bluffton High School in 1937. She was a homemaker and assisted her family with operating the Stucky Furniture store in Monroe. She was a member of Apostolic Christian Church.

David A. Malone

    David A. Malone, 28, Decatur, died on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    He was born on June 5, 1985, to David P. Malone and Maurine A. Fidley.
    He was a member of The Bridge and was a student at Ivy Tech. He was active in area bowling circles.
    Among survivors are his mother and step-father, Kelly and Chris Carpenter of Decatur; a son, Bentley A. Malone (21 months); a brother, Chris Malone of Decatur; and a step-grandfather, Wayne Carpenter of Decatur.

Beverly K. Case

September 23, 2013

    Beverly K. Case, 72, Decatur died on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne as the result of a pedestrian-vehicle accident.
    She was born in Decatur on November 16, 1940 to the late Gilbert and Norma (Wefel) Thieme. She married Bud E. Case on October 11, 1986. He survives.
    Beverly was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She had worked for Heller Insurance Agency and Graber Insurance Agency.
