Betty J. Schmoll, 84, of Decatur, passed away at 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Betty was born on Sunday, November 4, 1928, in Talmadge, Neb., to the late Fred G. and Iola (VanWinkle) Douglas. She married Glen E. Schmoll on July 7, 1946; he passed away February 8, 2009.
Dorothy M. Bultemeier, 72, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital.
She was born on Friday, December 13, 1940, in Allen County to the late James Vinson and the late Vera (Kleber) Vinson.
She married Kenneth Bultemeier on April 4, 1959.
Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hessen Cassel.
She was a retired secretary for East Allen County Schools at Heritage High School.
Wilma L. Hobbs, 63, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013, in the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
She was born in Celina, Ohio, on Wednesday, July 19, 1950, to the late James B. Carter and the late Jessie (Myers) Carter.
She married the late Gerald Hobbs on December 28,1968, in Coldwater, Ohio, he passed away on May 8, 2011.
Wilma was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Decatur and was a previous member of Covenant Chapel in Bluffton.
Warren J. Gidley, 80, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital with his loving family at his side.
Warren was born in Fort Wayne.
He worked in sales with Fort Wayne Engraving for 35 years, retiring in 1995. He was a U.S. Army Korean WAr veteran and member of American Legion Post 296 and VFW Decatur Post 6236.
Warren loved the lake and spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He was their No. 1 fan.
Cheryl L. Kempf, 56, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013, at her residence.
She was born in Adams County on October 25, 1956, to Ronald R. and Phyllis M. (Moser) Black.
On August 1, 2000, she married Mark A. Kempf.
Claudine Mansfield, 91, of Decatur ,died today.
Arrangement are pending at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Karen L. Sharp, 68, of rural Willshire, Ohio a devoted Christian mother passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born in Adams County on February 16, 1945 to John and Edna (Tumbleson) Mason.
She married Anthony "Tony" Sharp on September 1, 1963.
Joseph S. Klarke Jr., 60, of Hoagland, died Tuesday at his residence.
Among survivors are two sons, Uriah Klarke of Monroe and Robert Klarke of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Hannah (Bryce) Arnold of Bluffton and Lydia (Kevin) Fox of Berne; two sisters, Roseanne Jackson of Florida and Evie (Frank) Fuhrman of Decatur.
Friends will be received from 6-7 p.m. on Sunday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Robert M. "Mack" Roberts, 72, of Decatur, died Saturday, August 24, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Among survivors are two daughters, Brenda (Robert) Roberts-Nolan of Auburn and Carolyn (Richard) Roberts-Craddock of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a son, Robert M. (Misty) Roberts II of Greenbrier, Tenn.; and a sister, Ruth Roberts of Sneedville, Tenn.;
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. this Saturday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.
Jerry L. Smith, 74, Berne, died Tuesday at Swiss Village in Berne.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; daughter, Kim (Mike) Minneci of Cary, Ill.; brother, Robert Smith of Richmond; sisters, Gloria Armstrong of Dayton and Carolyn Race of New Paris, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 10 to 1 p.m on Thursday with funeral services to follow at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Burial will be in MRE Cemetery, Berne.
