Colonel (Retired) Michael C. McAdams passed away July 27, 2013.
Col. (Ret.) McAdams was born in Springfield, Mo. He graduated from McCallie School, earning a football scholarship to the Georgia Institute of Technology. Upon graduation as an ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate from Ga. Tech., he was commissioned a Regular Army Second Lieutenant of Artillery with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management.
Marjorie L. Meyer, 92 years old, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Marjorie was born on Sunday, November 7, 1920, in Fort Wayne to the late Albert and Helen (Mailand) Scheumann.
She married Robert C. Meyer on August 4, 1948, in Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur; he passed away on November 16, 2006.
Roy D. Stucky, 88 of Bronson, Mich., formerly of Monroe, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Roy was born March 7, 1925, in Berne to the late Florenz and Metta (Nussbaum) Stucky.
On March 25, 1945, he married Mary Louise Trump; she preceded him in death on September 14, 2012.
Gladys Barkley, 106, of Convoy, Ohio, passed away at 7 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Vancrest of Convoy.
Gladys was born September 29, 1906, in Tully Township, Van Wert County, Ohio, to the late Gilbert F. and Rosa Etta (Feasby) Fensler. She was one of eight children.
She married Floyd H. Barkley on May 31, 1928; he preceded her in death on July 4, 1990.
Roy D. Stucky, 88, of Bronson, Mich., formerly of Monroe, died Thursday.
Arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Nell J. Huffman, 85, of Geneva, died Tuesday at IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Among survivors are her husband, Richard L. Huffman of Geneva; daughter, Patricia (Bill) Cowan of Portland; son, Brian L. (Tina) Huffman of Bluffton.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, Geneva. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.
John P. Zehr, 85, of Berne, died Tuesday at Swiss Village.
Among survivors are two daughters, Carol (Dan) Rupp of Fort Wayne and Jan (Dean) Meyers of Muncie.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday in the front vestibule of First Missionary Church. A graveside service will follow at MRE Cemetery Chapel.
Arrangements are by Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home.
Evelyn Trefun, 97, formerly of Bremen, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 at Adams Heritage Healthcare Facility in Monroeville.
Evelyn was born February 1, 1916, in Wyatt.
On November 7, 1935, she married Stanley Trefun; he preceded her in death.
Evelyn was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Ladies’ Circle.
Elizabeth Ann Kocher Bond, 71, died of ALS on July 16 at her home in Cypress Mill, Texas.
She was born in Decatur on April 7, 1941, to James L. Kocher and Mildred Wolfe Kocher.
Both Ann and her husband Bill were graduates of the class of 1959, DHS, and Indiana University (Bloomington).
Delores E. Landis, 88, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
Delores was born October 30, 1924, in Adams County to the late Victor and Alta (Barger) Byerly.
She married Harvey E. Landis on June 21, 1947; he died on August 20, 1990.
