November 20th
Orpha M. Young, 91, of Decatur, passed away at 8:35 p.m. on November 18, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born in Wells County on April 3, 1921.
Orpha married Marion Oliver Young on March 24, 1942; he passed away on November 27, 1977.
Among survivors are her son, Paul Eugene Young; son, Howard DeWayne Young; daughter, Amy (Dennis) Alberding; sister, Pauline Shaffer, all of Decatur; and two grandchildren.
November 19th
James E. Bowyer, 76, Fort Wayne, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
He served his country in the United States Army.
James married Arlene P. Nicklow on Oct. 12, 1960, in Republic, Pennsylvania. They celebrated 52 years of marriage this past October.
Marilyn Elizabeth Sailors, 85, of Walton, Ind., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 15, 2012, in Bradenton, Florida.
Born July 30, 1927, in Walton, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Thelma (Barnett) Bishop.
She was married February 6, 1948, in the Ninth St. Christian Church parsonage in Logansport, Ind., to John T. "J.T." Sailors; he preceded her in death May 29, 2012.
Ellen L. Springer-Thieme, 92, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born in Adams County on Monday, May 31, 1920, to the late Fred E. and Elsie M. (Franz) Fuelling.
Ellen married Forrest A. Springer on November 10, 1945; he passed away on May 24, 1984. On January 26, 2002, she married Harold E. Thieme; he survives in Decatur.

Marilyn Sailors, 85, of Walton, Ind., mother of Julia (Larry) Grogg, Decatur, died Thursday in Bradenton, Fla.
Arrangements are pending at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport.
November 14th
Viola M. Ray, 95, of Muncie, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012, at Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness.
She was born in BoBo, Ohio, on December 11, 1916, to the late Dennison and Daisy L. (Gause) Krick.
Viola moved to Muncie in 1944. She was a member of Southside Church of the Nazarene.

Mary H. Werling Melching, 104, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012, at 2:02 a.m. at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born in Hillisburg, Indiana, on August 22, 1908, to the late James F. Halberstadt, Sr. and the late Flava Ploughe.
Mary married Dorus D. Werling on January 22, 1927, in Decatur; he passed away on June 29, 1931.
She then married Edward T. Melching on August 15, 1936, in Columbia City; he passed away on April 8, 1985.
Jessie James Osborn, 79, of Poneto, passed away at 2 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born in Wells County on June 19, 1933, to the late Charles Curtis and Beulah Belle (Folk) Osborn.
November 12th
Kathryn "Kate" Eileen Eaton, 85, of Owosso, Mich., passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012 at her residence.
Kate was born February 5, 1927, near Mt. Pleasant, to the late Charles and Marion (Hanks) Hagerman.
She graduated from Okemos High School in 1944 and attended General Motors Technical School.
Mary Melching, 104, of Decatur, died this morning at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
Arrangements are pending at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.
