December 17th
Jacqueline D. Mere, 92, of Geneva, passed away at 1 a.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Swiss Village.
She was born in Adams County on Saturday, November 20, 1920.
Jacqueline graduated from Geneva High School in the class of 1938.
She married Hugh P. Mere on August 17, 1945, at Robins Field, Ga.; he preceded her in death on September 22, 1990.
Joyce (Ward) Moser, 84, of Wren, Ohio, passed away at 6:28 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Waynedale, Ind., on August 24, 1928, to the late Harley and Amanda (Neuenschwander) Ward.
She married Harry Moser on June 5, 1949, in Decatur; he survives in Wren.
Joyce was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, Ohio. She was a homemaker and had previously worked for Edwards Studio in Decatur.
Elma E. Schwartz, 96, of Berne, died Friday at Swiss Village.
Among survivors are a daughter, Anita (Ronald) Habegger of Fort Wayne and two sons, Rodney (Judy) Schwartz of Rotonda West, Fla., and Neil Schwartz of Warsaw.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at Swiss Village Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 21, at Berne Evangelical Church, with visitation one hour prior to services.
Burial will be at Evangelical Mennonite Cemetery.
Jonas G. S. Schwartz, of Bryant, was stillborn on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Among survivors are his parents, Pete and Lavina C. (Graber) Schwartz of Bryant.
The family will have a funeral service at the Pete A.C. Schwartz residence in rural Bryant. Arrangements are by Downing & Glancy Funeral Home.
December 14th
Georgianna C. (Engle) Converset-Bowers, 95 of Fort Wayne, formerly of Decatur, passed away at 7:10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at the Coventry Meadow.
She married Julian W. Converset on December 2, 1942; he passed away on September 7, 1962. She then married Edward J. Bowers on February 10, 1979, in Fort Wayne; he passed away on May 17, 2000.
Anna Belle Gase, 91, of Decatur, died Friday.
Arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Robert E. Gavin, 76, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012, at 2:43 a.m. in the Lutheran Hospital.
He married Barbara J. (Burdg) Gavin on February 6, 1982 in Decatur; she survives in Decatur.
Bob served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 43, Moose 1311, and VFW all in Decatur. He had worked for Yost Prestress, Automatic Sprinkler Corporation, and drove truck for ATL, until retiring in 2008.

David B. Alderman, 50, Decatur, died Wednesday.

Harold E. Gray III, 60, of Decatur, died at his residence on Wednesday, December 12, 2012.
He was born in Teaneck, N.J., on September 16, 1952, to Harold E. and Estelle (Torterella) Gray II.
On January 17, 1981 he married Jane Reinhart; she survives in Decatur.
Harold retired from Sprint with 31 years of service and had been working presently as a manager at Moble King.
Gladys M. Kukelhan, 85, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born in Allen County on Thursday, September 1, 1927, to the late Herman E. and Hortense (Flaharty) Fiedler.
She married Albert Kukelhan on April 12, 1947; he passed away on February 9, 2001.
