November 23rd
Emilda H. Gerber, 83, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012, in Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Jay County on January 23, 1929, to the late Daniel and Florence (Freund) Schindler.
Emilda married Clyde L. Gerber on July 10, 1948; he died on April 29, 2006.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and worked as a homemaker.
Raymond B. Schultz, 90, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
He was born in Adams County on October 30, 1922, to the late Julius C. and Isabel (Bernard) Schultz.
Raymond married M. Maxine Steigmeyer on May 6, 1947.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and of its Holy Name Society, and was also a member of the Moose Lodge 1311. He retired in 1981 from Teeple Truck Line after 32 years of service.
Magdalena S. Eicher, 80, of rural Geneva, died Wednesday at her residence.
Frank Sardella, 86 of Decatur, died on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Laurels of Shanehill Nursing Home in Rockford, Ohio.
Frank was born in Beaver Lake, New Jersey, on April 17, 1926, to the late Albert and Paulino (Venturino) Sardella.
He married Marjorie L. Gase Stetler on November 18, 1972.; she preceded him in death on October 6, 2012.
November 21st
Virginia Madeline Dicke, 82, of Ohio City, Ohio, died at 9:33 a.m., Sunday at the Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.
She was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio, on January 31, 1930, to the late Frank and Mary (Rinehart) Veit.
On June 5, 1948, she married Donald Willis Dicke; he preceded her in death on August 18, 2008.
Sandra J. Strickler, 77, of Willshire, Ohio, passed away at 6:51 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012, at Convoy Care Center in Convoy, Ohio.
Sandra was born in Chattanooga, Ohio, on Friday, April 5, 1935, to the late Kenneth and Gertrude (Baker) Hoblet.
She married Lester L. Strickler on October 24, 1953, in Chattanooga; he passed away on March 25, 1995.
Sandra was a homemaker and had been in nursing for 22 years for Dr. Merrill Osborn.

Sandra J. Strickler, 77, of Willshire, Ohio, died Monday morning in the Convoy Caren Center.
Arrangements are pending at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.
Paul D. Switzer, 87, of Van Wert, Ohio, passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Hearth & Home Assisted Living, in Van Wert.
He was born in Ohio City, Ohio, on Thursday, May 28, 1925, to the late Dean and Esther (Putman) Switzer.
On July 31, 1953, he married Ella Franz in St. Peter Lutheran Church-Fuelling, rural Decatur; she survives in VanWert.
Orpha M. Young, 91, of Decatur, passed away at 8:35 p.m. on November 18, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born in Wells County on April 3, 1921.
Orpha married Marion Oliver Young on March 24, 1942; he passed away on November 27, 1977.
Among survivors are her son, Paul Eugene Young; son, Howard DeWayne Young; daughter, Amy (Dennis) Alberding; sister, Pauline Shaffer, all of Decatur; and two grandchildren.
November 19th
James E. Bowyer, 76, Fort Wayne, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
He served his country in the United States Army.
James married Arlene P. Nicklow on Oct. 12, 1960, in Republic, Pennsylvania. They celebrated 52 years of marriage this past October.
