Edward E. "Ed" Dick, 83, formerly of Decatur, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2011 at Swiss Village.
Ed was born on September 21, 1927, at home, just west of Monroe, to Albert and Virgil (Andrews) Dick.
He married Peggy Ann Davidson on August 28, 1954.
Ed was a lifelong farmer in Adams County and worked as an air traffic controller at Fort Wayne International Airport (Baer Field) for over 20 years. He had his pilot's license and owned two airplanes.
Phyllis J. Rapp, 87, formerly of Decatur, died at 10:20 p.m. Monday in The Village of Heritage nursing home in Monroeville, where she had resided for the past five years.
She was born on August 25, 1923, in Springfield, Ohio, to Paul and Zelda M. Haley Pollock.
She married Clarence K. Rapp on November 9, 1946, in Kentucky and he passed away in May of 1998.
Phyllis was a homemaker and had been employed by National Supply and by Robbins and Myers, both in Springfield.
Tangela R. Scherbring, 39, of Decatur, died Monday at home.
She was born in Bluffton to Bryce W. and Dorothy Hamrick Brickley, who are deceased.
Surviving are a daughter, Sarah J. Sharpe of Decatur; three brothers, Bryce Brickley of Keystone, and Joe and Jay Brickley of Bluffton; and four sisters, Tina Brickley of Garrett; Darlene Flick of Bluffton; Doris Brickley of Illinois; and Pricella Phillips of Glendale, Arizona.
Luella Amstutz, 92, of Berne, died Monday in Swiss Village Retirement Community.
She was born to Ralph and Martha Cordier Monroe.
Among survivors are a son, John M. Amstutz of Geneva, and two sisters, Luetta Hill and Mrs. Rudy (Marjorie) Brehm of Celina, Ohio.

Ralph R. Grote, 89, of Decatur, died at 5 a.m. Monday in the nursing center at Woodcrest Retirement Community.
He married Irene C. Conrad on March 28, 1943, in Immanuel Lutheran Church; she survives.
He was an auto mechanic for 49 years, a charter member of the Union Township Lions Club, and a member of American Legion Post 43 in Decatur, of which he had served as commander.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Catherine J. "Katy" Fosnaugh, 91, a longtime resident of Linn Grove, died Thursday in Hospice Home at Fort Wayne.
She was born in Adams County on September 30, 1919, to John and Clara Chrisman Pearson.
Among survivors are three daughters,,Mrs. Bruce (Carole) Mann of Monroe, Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Diek of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Richard (Sandra) Courson of Warsaw.
Lorinda F. Koeneman, 94, of Monroeville, died Saturday at The Village of Heritage nursing home in Monroeville.
She was born to William F. and Clara Thieme Hockemeyer.
She married Oscar W. Koeneman; he passed away in 1993.
R. Rolando “Roli” Rangel, 33, of Noblesville, Indiana, formerly of Decatur, died unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, January 13, 2011.
He was the son of Roberto M. and Irma O. (Serna) Rangel of Decatur. Roli was born on December 10, 1977 in Decatur.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and its Hispanic Society.
