Charles H. Edgar, 83, of Decatur, died Tuesday at Woodcrest Retirement Community's nursing center.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur.
John R. Girard, 76, of Decatur, died on Saturday, December 25, 2010, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
John was born on July 16, 1934, in Paulding, Ohio, to Adrien J. and Genevieve (Artz) Girard.
On September 11, 1954, he married Rita C. Rumschlag. She preceded him in death on November 12, 2007.
John was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and the Holy Name Society and was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 864 in Decatur.
Edith L. Hicks, 71, of Berne, died at home on December 23..
She was born to Sylvester and Margaret Hensley Hicks.
Among survivors are a daughter, Debra Gibson of Berne; and six sons: Hubert Curtis of Geneva; Thurman Curtis of Montpelier; Hobart Curtis of Redkey; Kenneth Curtis of Bryant; Robert Curtis of Dunkirk,; and Joe M. Curtis of Bluffton; and a stepson, Robert Vredeveld.
Sylvia M. Hoevel, 98, passed away on December 25, 2010, at Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne.
She was born on March 18, 1912, in Fort Wayne to Henry L. and Hattie Louisa Treu Lee.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was an avid bridge player.
She is survived by her children, Phyllis (Robert) Rife, Mary (Rene) Vansteelandt, Helen (Eugene) Bulmahn and David (Barbara) Hoevel; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Russell C. Jones, 100, formerly of Hoagland, died at 6:18 p.m. Saturday, December 25, in The Village of Heritage nursing home at Monroeville.
He was born on December 17, 1910, near Dixon, Ohio, to James and Annie Lauri Stephenson Jones.
Russell was the owner of Jones Skyriders Balloon Company and was also a tool-and-die maker and a farmer.
Russell was a member of Antioch Lutheran Church in Hoagland and a volunteer worker at The Christmas Bureau and at Big Brother.
