The town of Geneva will be the first community in Indiana to be designated as a "Bird Town" by the Indiana Audubon Society, Limberlost State Historic Site Manager Randy Lehman reported at last night's Geneva Town Council meeting. The achievement will be recognized with an official ceremony at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the historic site, located at 200 East Sixth St. in Geneva, when representatives of the state Audubon organization will make a formal presentation to village officials.
Adams County residents will soon be able to pay their taxes by credit card over the counter, Treasurer Tom Krueckberg reported to the county commissioners at Tuesday's weekly meeting.
The new service will begin on January 1.
