State Rep. Matt Lehman and State Sen. Travis Holdman would like to see their colleagues in the Indiana General Assembly take a break from additional school reforms during the current legislative session.
Their constituents apparently feel otherwise.
Lehman, R-Berne, and Holdman, R-Markle, fielded questions for 90 minutes Saturday morning during a town hall-style meeting in Decatur. And the bulk of those questions focused on … you guessed it … education.
The final financial statement for 2012 showed that Adams Memorial Hospital (AMH) finished the year $384,021 in the black thanks to over $1.3 million in non-operating revenue received.
That surplus figure is over three times the amount to the good posted by the hospital in 2011 when the year ended at $104,947 in the black.
Dots in Blue Water, the student-led non-profit based out of South Adams High School, is planning on making a third trip to Haiti this summer to assist residents there.
So the students have announced plans for an upcoming "coffee shop" and auction to raise funds for the trip.
