Highway elevation prompts concerns

    An Indiana Department of Transportation plan to elevate U.S. 224 in the area at the Bellmont High School entrance to a short distance south of the East Monroe Street intersection continues to raise concerns among some residents.
    Brad McBride, owner-operator of McBride & Son Welding  at the intersection of Jackson Street and U.S. 224, was on hand for Tuesday night’s Decatur City Council meeting, along with three other men, to discuss the matter.

In Geneva, storm water rates cut, but other fees will rise

    Geneva Town Council accepted the introduction of five new village ordinances and passed the 2014 approved budget ordinance at Tuesday night’s monthly meeting.

 The Bellmont volleyball program celebrated Senior Night on Tuesday as the Squaws hosted the Norwell Knights. The 10 seniors involved with the volleyball team, eight players and two managers, gathered for a photo before the match. They are, in front from left, Taylor Rhymer, Emily Roman and Liv Fuelling.
