Pickup finally rescued

   Once the rising waters after last week's flooding finally began to recede, workers on Tuesday — the coldest day of the season — began the daunting task of removing a wayward vehicle that somehow found its way into the St. Mary's River.
    An unnamed source stated that on Sunday, January 13, the unidentified driver drove the pickup truck off the western bank of the St. Mary's River in Pleasant Mills, near US 101.

Solid waste district solid financially

    The Adams County Solid Waste Management District is in "very good financial shape" as it enters the new year, according to the district's legal representative, which in turn is good news for all county residents.
    Attorney Tim Baker offered that assessment Tuesday during a regular meeting of the solid waste district's board of directors after hearing a review of 2012 expenses and expenditures incurred by the district.

Good turnout for first town hall
