No city help for Oakwood

    The Oakwood Addition south of Decatur continues under a boil advisory due to major problems with its water system, but at this point there is no way the City of Decatur could or would come to the rescue.
    Councilman Matt Dyer raised the matter at Tuesday night's city council meeting, asking if it would be possible for the city to provide water to the residents of Oakwood, also known as Yost Woods.    

Heritage Village festival on tap for Saturday

    The annual Berne Heritage Festival will be held at Swiss Heritage Village and Museum this Saturday from 9 a.m-5 p.m.
    The event will feature children’s games, senior activities, and visitors may be invited to spin wool, churn butter, or shell corn with a hand crank sheller.

Soccer spurs changes for motorists

    Parks & recreation department soccer begins Saturday, which means entry to both Bellmont High School and Worthman Field will be altered each Satuday through October 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    The driveway to Bellmont High School off of US 224 will be closed; people are asked to use the entrance by the administrative building or the Middle School entrance on East Monroe St.
    Worthman Field entrances will be one-way off Adams Street, with the only way to exit through the back gate.
