The body of the fallen Army Spc. Nick Taylor is expected to pass through Decatur around 2:30 to 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, according to various officials.
Earlier reports put the pass-through at 3:30.
The body will arrive on the grounds of the 122nd Fighter Wing base of the Air National Guard in Fort Wayne at approximately 2 p.m. Following a ceremony of approximately 15 minutes, the drive on US 27 to Berne will begin, with an escort.
Funeral services were scheduled today for the Indiana National Guardsman killed with Nick Taylor of Berne in an attack in Afghanistan.
Approximately 60 Indiana Patriot Guard riders and local law enforcement escorted the body of Spc. Sergio Eduardo Perez Jr. of Crown Point from Gary/Chicago International Airport to a funeral home in his hometown on Wednesday.
The Berne City Council earlier this week agreed to continue its $3,000 annual stipend to the Adams County Council on Aging in support of the agency's senior transportation system.
Council on Aging Director Sharon Tester made her annual appearance to request continued financial support, which she said is crucial to the agency's continued operation.
