Decatur police are continuing their investigation into an alleged stabbing that occurred early Sunday morning.
Police were dispatched to the 200 block of N. 17th Street at 12:25 a.m. Sunday in regards to a battery situation with a possible stabbing, according to a department spokesman.
Unemployment in Adams County climbed slightly during May to 7.3 percent — up from a four-year low of 7.0 percent one month earlier but still a half percent below readings from May of 2011.
After starting 2012 with a jobless rate of 8.5 percent, Adams County saw four consecutive months of decline in unemployment figures prior to the release of May's statistics.
Myra Moore, South Adams Schools' technology director, announced at this week's board of education meeting that the school plans to use a new notification system during the 2012-13 school year. The new system has more features and will cost three cents more per student than the previous system.
