Mourdock goes low-key in Lincoln Day address here

    Republican Senate hopeful Richard Mourdock took a low-key approach to his campaign bid Thursday evening in Adams County, professing respect for his veteran opponent and spending most of his time behind the podium talking about the strengths and virtues of Abraham Lincoln.

Prayers offered at observance

    In observance of the National Day of Prayer, more than 50 Adams County community members, pastors and leaders gathered at Peace Monument on the Decatur courthouse square at noon on Thursday to participate in a prayer service organized by the Decatur Ministerial Association.
    Rev. Kevin August of New Hope Community Church opened the service with a call to prayer, saying, "We are called before the Lord to repent, confess, remember, seek comfort and direction, and to receive God's courage and help."

City law firm taking clients of Biberstein

    Officials of the Decatur law firm of DeVoss, Johnson, Zwick, Baker & Ainsworth along with the family of the late Berne attorney Bob Biberstein have announced that the DeVoss firm will continue serving Biberstein clients, including the establishment of office hours in Berne.
    Biberstein, a longtime Berne attorney, suffered a stroke on January 25 of this year and subsequently suffered a fatal heart attack on March 21
