Library hours being reduced

    Kelly Ehinger, director of the Adams Public Library System, reported this week that hours are being reduced at the Decatur library.
    According to Ehinger, the library board at its recent meeting discussed ways to ensure future financial sustainability while continuing to meet library standards and the community’s needs during times of reduced or stagnant revenues.

Suspicious package not an explosive

    A suspicious package found next to a Decatur business Wednesday morning brought about a swift response from law enforcement officials and wounded up with an Indiana State Police Bomb Squad (EOD team) being called to investigate.
    The package apparently was not a threat, however.

Swiss Heritage Village open six days starting Friday

    Doug Milligan, executive director of Swiss Heritage Village, has announced that beginning Friday, the village will be open every day, except Sundays and holidays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    The facility is open on Saturdays through the month of May.
    Chartered in 1985, Swiss Heritage Village covers 22 acres at the northeast edge of Berne. It is touted as the largest outdoor museum in Indiana.
