A contract for roofing projects totaling more than $660,000 was approved Tuesday evening during the regular monthly meeting of the North Adams school board.
As part of Alcohol Awareness Month, a four-person panel of experts addressed a crowd of community members on the dangers of underage drinking at a town hall-style meeting of the Substance Abuse Awareness Council (SAAC) Wednesday at Riverside Center.
South Adams Schools is looking into the possibility of offering an alternative education program. Superintendent Scott Litwiller said at this week's school board meeting that such a program "provides an alternative for those students who do not learn well in the public high school classroom."
