Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana (AIHS) has announced the upcoming closure of the Adams County Nutrition Site located in Riveside Center in Decatur.
Due to a decline in attendance, the last day of operation will be Monday, December 31, 2012, AIHS said.
The announcement said current participants in the program will have the option of joining the restaurant voucher program that has been operating since 2010 at Spring Garden Restaurant, 1401 Winchester Road, Decatur.
Berne City Council on Monday got its first glimpse at costly options that will bring the city's waste water treatment operation into complete compliance with new state limits on the amount of ammonia that can legally be discharged to area rivers and streams.
The city of Berne is under a mandate from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to reduce the amount of ammonia contained in its waste water effluent by the year 2015.
The Indianapolis-based Heritage Group, under the name of its subsidiaries — Aggregates Inc. and Milestone Contractors — has acquired Meshberger Brothers Stone Corporation and LICA Construction Corp.
Caleb Brown, representing Aggregates Inc., said the Meshberger firm's name would be changed to the Aggregates name while LICA Construction would take on the name of Milestone Contractors.
Brown said that both companies would continue to operate with the same personnel employed by the local firms.
