Last month Geneva Marshall Rob Johnson reported during the town's council meeting that there had been an increase in the number of calls to the police regarding items being stolen out of vehicles. At Tuesday's meeting, Johnson reported that those calls have "gone down a bit."
Johnson still warns the community to keep car doors locked to deter this type of crime.
The Adams County Solid Waste Management District, in conjunction with the privately-owned The Recycle Bin firm from Decatur, will sponsor a one-time Electronic Waste Disposal Day from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, at the county transfer station.
The collection is open to Adams County residents only.
Items that will be accepted that day, free of charge, include:

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) continues to knock on Decatur's door and as a result the city's sewage rates are going to go up and up over the next three years, it was learned at Tuesday night's city council meeting.
The Geneva Town Council approved a noise ordinance on the first of three readings at its meeting on Tuesday.
The ordinance prohibits unreasonable, unnecessary, excessive and offensive noise from all sources. The ordinance explains that certain levels of noise are detrimental to the health, safety, comfort and repose of the citizens of the town of Geneva.
The newest member of the Decatur Police Department was sworn in Monday by Adams County Clerk-Treasurer Phyllis Whitright.
Decatur native Derek Loshe has been a reserve officer with the police department for the past one and one-half years and worked in the Allen County jail for approximately two years prior to returning to Decatur.

With the ongoing water leaks at the Service Complex, county officials are still trying to decide the best course of action to find a permanent solution to the problem.
Back in May of this year, Jerry Firestone of Triangle Design developed a bid package to be used in collecting bids for repair work to be done on the Complex, telling commissioners this would allow contractors submitting estimates to provide bids for the same work and allow commissioners to compare "apples to apples."
The Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF), along with North Adams Community Schools, has announced that a silent auction is under way to provide support for families in need of assistance for activities not funded by taxpayers.
A news release said the volunteer committee will review applications submitted to the ACCF, focusing on needs for families before considering wants, should additional funds become available.
Decatur native D.J. Sigler is following in the footsteps of his father, Dan.
Sigler the son has been named a special prosecutor assigned to the case of Huntington County Commissioer Tom Wall, who has been charged with seven counts of misdemeanor battery against two women who worked for him.
In a story in the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Sigler declined to comment on the details of the charges, but quoted the state statute that defines battery as “touching in a rude, insolent or angry manner.”

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Colts coach Chuck Pagano has been diagnosed with leukemia and is expected to be hospitalized six to eight weeks as he undergoes treatment.
He will be replaced on an interim basis by offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.
Team owner Jim Irsay made the announcement Monday during a somber and sometimes emotional news conference at the team complex.
Some members of local law enforcement will soon be better equipped to interact with individuals struggling with mental illness as they partner with Park Center to develop the new Crisis Intervention Team (CIT).
The new program in Adams County is modeled after the CIT program in Fort Wayne, which was instituted after a stand-off altercation with a mentally ill man, who was subsequently killed by police.
