Winter reared its ugly head in Decatur and Adams County overnight, with roaring winds causing the most problems.
County roads were slick and hazardous due to blowing snow. In Decatur, some streets were snow-covered and others were nearly clear — depending upon which way the snow was blowing.
The area continued under a winter weather advisory.
Hopes for a new city-county building in Decatur and a move out of the current superior court building seemed to fade away on Thursday with the unseasonable weather being experienced here earlier this week.
It's been said all along that without everyone on board, a new city-county building in Decatur likely wouldn't happen.
At Thursday's meeting attended by a number of city and county officials, two of the three Adams County commissioners expressed opposition, but one offered a possible alternative.
Commissioner Doug Bauman said the antiquated superior court building "needs work beyond what we can afford to fix."
