Bellmont High School will crown its 2011 Homecoming king and queen at halftime of Friday's football game against New Haven.
Three senior girls and three boys are candidates.
The girls are Katlyn Cook, Katie Norder and Taylor Kennedy.
The boys are: Brian Hakes, Zach Wetsel and Ben Baker.
United Way Football Night will be observed this Friday at the Bellmont-New Haven football game at Bob Worthman Stadium. The contest will start at 7 p.m.
Fans are asked by the staff of the United Way of Adams County to bring nonperishable foods for collection by the UWAC and distribution to local food banks.
"Live United — Go Braves" bracelets will be available at the entry gate for $1 each.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana residents who slogged through last year’s icy, snowy winter may be facing a repeat of that icy blast in the coming months.
Associate state climatologist Ken Scheeringa says the same La Nina weather pattern that brought Indiana a cold and snowy winter last year appears poised to return this winter. La Nina occurs when the central Pacific Ocean around the equator cools by at least 1 degree below normal.
