It won't be soon and it may not even be this year, but in the not-too-distant future the City of Decatur is going to have something it's never had before: a redevelopment commission.
Decatur City Council started the ball rolling at its meeting Tuesday night and while Mayor John Schultz said "there is no rush," the mayor and council members seemed enthusiastic about beginning the process.
Free annual marionette shows presented at the Decatur branch of the Adams Public Library System were seen by close to 200 people on Monday.
Two presentations of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" were given.
The handmade wooden puppets, moved by strings, are from the Stevens Puppets company in Bristol, Indiana, owned since 1993 by Dan Raynor. The Stevens Puppets were created in 1933 and the firm is one of just three marionette troupes at work in the United States.
