The North Adams Community Schools' board of education approved a rash of personnel transactions Tuesday night, including the elimination of several federally-funded Even Start positions, accepting the resignation of a veteran girls tennis coach, and the filling the vacant varsity girls basketball coaching position.
It seems that Berne is another step closer to having a CVS pharmacy at the intersection of US 27 and State Route 218.
At a meeting of the South Adams Schools Board on Tuesday, board members accepted a $650,000 bid by GKB Enterprises for the former Berne elementary school property. GKB Enterprises, LLC is owned by Steven J. Kreigh and the estate of Ralph E. Biggs.
Many personnel positions were dealt with by the Adams Central Schools Board at its meeting on Tuesday night. Only board member Mike Brown was absent.
The board accepted the resignation of Kristin Sprunger as AC's assistant technology supervisor. She is leaving after five years to take a position with the Grant County Sheriff's Department at Marion.
