Corrections program growth seen

    Adams County's Community Corrections program is destined for growth so Councilman Matt Dyer said at this week's city council meeting that city department heads and others should come up with projects for those in the program to handle.
    Criminal offenders who enter the Community Corrections program are assigned to perform community service at various sheriff’s departments, parks, city or county properties or non-profit agencies. They receive earned credit time but no pay.

Two collector books slated for the 175th

    Members of the 175th Anniversary Committee in Decatur have announced that website has been created and two collector books will be printed.
    The website is www.decatur175.com and features a schedule of events, a short history of the city, a page on which to shop for 175th anniversary souvenirs, and a "contact us" page so people can say what they think and add ideas to better the celebration.
    The committee said the site will be continually updated.

Bogus food inspectors said working this area

    The Adams County Health Department (ACHD) issued an alert today over alleged scam artists posing as Indiana State Department of Health food inspectors in area restaurants.
    ACHD Sanitarian Terry Smith said this morning that he has been notified these imposters have been active in at least two area counties.
