Emotional Isch accepts ‘great honor’

February 4, 2011

Fighting back tears on more than one occasion, veteran banker and community activist Larry Isch on Thursday evening accepted the 2010 Stephen Decatur Award, presented annually by the Decatur Chamber of Commerce for outstanding civic contributions.
Mayor John Schultz presented the award, which Isch termed "a great honor." The recipient then paused briefly in an attempt to get his emotions in check.

Decatur and Adams County were about back to normal today — normal being amid huge piles of snow — albeit on the frigid side.
School systems were in operation on normal schedules for the first time since Monday and all weather code alerts have been called off. Adams County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Director John August announced at noon Thursday that the county was "back to normal operations."
