Cameron Collier announced late this morning that he will seek the Republican nomination for the at-large seat on Decatur City Council.
The seat currently is held by Democrat Barbara Engle.
Theodore "Toby" Schwartz entered Adams Circuit Court on Monday afternoon with a 100-year prison sentence and left about an hour later with 29 years added on.
Schwartz, 41, a former resident of Geneva and Berne, was given a century behind bars last year in Allen County for rape, burglary, and other crimes in the fall of 2009 that resulted from his lengthy use of methamphetamine.
Government-as-business was the theme of this year's State of the County address by Commissioner Doug Bauman, who declared, "It's all about sales. It's making people feel good about doing business" with government.
He delivered his talk at a luncheon meeting of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce in Woodcrest Retirement Community, with some 60 people attending.
