The newest member of Decatur City Council, Cameron Collier, was sworn in to his first political office on Monday evening by Adams Circuit Court Judge Frederick A. Schurger.
Collier, a Republican, took the oath during the same event at which 19 other city officials (six elected, 13 appointed) were also sworn in.
With him were his parents, Dave and Sandy Collier, and his son Barrett. Collier's wife was ill and unable to attend the ceremony at Riverside Center.
A Decatur man remains in critical condition with head injuries in Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne today after he walked out in front of a vehicle on S. 13th Street and was struck on Christmas Eve.
The report, released today by the Decatur Police Department, said Brandon A. Heath, 21, N. Second Street, walked in front of a car driven by Virginia K. Hoffman, 67, Mix Avenue, Decatur, at 6:33 p.m. Saturday.
The annual Super Kids Dare to be Healthy program will run from January 9 through March 5 and again from April 2 through May 30 to emphasize nutrition (especially better food choices), daily physical activity, and building self-esteem and self-acceptance.
An announcement said students age 8 to 14 will participate from 3:30-5 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays during those eight-week periods at the Adams County Service Complex on Jefferson St. between Third and Fourth Sts.
