Decatur and Adams County were placed under a flood watch on Monday afternoon.
The National Weather Service said there is a 100 percent chance of rain in this area tonight and it could be heavy at times.
Forecasters said more rain is likely here on Tuesday and, again, it could be heavy at times. It also could be mixed with snow, they added.
Chances of rain on Tuesday night are listed at 90 percent.
Despite wet, cold conditions, several dozen people attended the 12th annual Christmas season-opening event on the Adams County Courthouse lawn in Decatur on Sunday
The Decatur event which included Christmas songs and the reading aloud of the poem "The Night Before Christmas."
Santa was on hand to greet his many fans.
Santa Claus was a busy guy in Adams County over the weekend. After greeting children at Berne on Friday, he traveled to Decatur on Sunday.
Berne held the city's annual Weinachtfest, or Christmas festival on Friday.
Other events that evening, sponsored by the Berne Chamber of Commerce, included a live nativity scene, face-painting, a chili-sampler, rides on the Reindeer Express train and an exotic animal farm.
Kmart associate Mendi Brite was handing out tickets early Friday morning — around 4 a.m. early — at the Decatur store.
Kmart shoppers needed a ticket to purchase some of the limited-quanity items on special for Black Friday. Brite said she ran out of tickets for the Garmin GPS, PlayStation 3 and a TV with a built-in DVD player.
Dreama Hampton, Star Hampton and Annie Bertsch were the first people in line at the store, starting the line around 4 a.m. in anticipation of the store's 5 a.m. opening.
