A new wrestling mat, purchased for use at the Bellmont middle school and high school, was dedicated Tuesday in a brief ceremony, prior to the season opener.
The mat, honoring John Friedt, carries the words seen in photo on one corner.
Friedt, who passed away suddenly last February, was instrumental in starting the Decatur Wrestling Club and served over 30 years as an assistant varsity coach and was Bellmont Middle School coach for many years.
Although the temperature was a fairly-mild 41 degrees this morning, many of those who waited in line outside the Decatur Kmart store beginning at 4 a.m. for Black Friday deals bundled up with coats, hats and blankets to stay warm.
Shopping was continuing throughout the day in Decatur.
Adams Health Network Chief Fnancial Officer Dane Wheeler ticked off several well-documented items Tuesday night to the AHN board of trustees at their monthly meeting as he discussed the fiscal health of the organization.
