The Adams Central High School band band is now one of the top 20 Class D bands in the state, having received a “Gold” rating and placing in the top 10 bands (out of 18) in last weekend’s Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Class D Regional competition.
The stakes are even higher this Saturday during the Semi-State contest at Franklin Community High School, near Greenwood.
A two-car crash injured one person at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday on US 27 at County Rd. 900 North.
Tamara L. Torson, 50, rural Decatur, was driving a car on 900 North when she hit a car driven by Breona R. Sinn, 22, rural Berne.
Torson suffered a chest bruise and was treated at Adams Memorial Hospital, then released.
Combined damages were estimated by an investigating deputy sheriff at $10,000 to $25,000.
Two-plus inches of rain and it just keeps on coming.
Officials at the Decatur weather station said this morning that 2.2 inches of rain fell here in a 24-hour period up to 7 a.m. today. That caused a dramatic rise in the St. Marys River of nearly nine feet, from 2.6 feet to 11. feet at 7 a.m. today.
Meanwhile, rain was continuing to fall well beyond 7 a.m., and the National Weather Service said more was expected here today.
