A Monroe woman who spent the past three school years as a paraprofessional in the "intense intervention room" (IIR) at Adams Central School resigned recently due to her concerns about "lack of staff and the safety issues we face daily."
What weighs 11,000 tons and costs $750,000?
According to comments made at Monday's session of the Adams County Commissioners by Commissioner Doug Bauman, that refers to a mistake made by the Brooks Construction company of Fort Wayne and/or its asphalt supplier before resurfacing State Rd. 116 west of Geneva this year.
Bauman, who lives on that stretch of highway, said he was told the asphalt was not properly made and had to be removed and replaced.
