Purdue University professor Chris Hurt delivered an analysis of current national economic thinking, along with Purdue's annual agricultural predictions, in Monday's Ag Outlook event at the 4-H Fairgrounds in Monroe, sponsored by the Purdue extension office in Adams County.
The handicap access ramp on the west side of the Adams County Courthouse has been closed for repairs and may be open again in about two weeks, depending on weather.
In the meantime, the county commissioners have put in place procedures to assist those who have physical disabilities in being served by Adams Circuit Court, the county clerk, and the county prosecutor, all of which have their offices in the courthouse.
A breakdown in the relay system at an American Electric Power substation on US 224 in Decatur caused a power failure at midafternoon Monday that affected more than 1,400 AEP customers in the city and in the rural area extending several miles west of Decatur.
Dave Mayne, a spokesman at the Indiana and Michigan Power office in Fort Wayne, said this morning that the problem occurred shortly after 3 p.m. and all customers were reconnected by 5:36 p.m.
The outage stretched as far west as the Preble area.
