The Bellmont Squaws won their contest against the Lady Patriots of Heritage the hard way on Wednesday night scoring five of their six runs in the bottom of the sixth to shock the visiting crowd, 6-5, at the Teepee.
Heritage led most of the way and were up 4-1 when they got an insurance run in the top of the sixth with the bases loaded and only one out. Coach Rick Burkhalter came out to have a chat with his junior Hailee Hormann.
Two children were killed and four people were seriously injured in a vehicle-buggy crash Tuesday just before 8 a.m.
The Adams County Sheriff's Department reported that Chandler M. Gerber, 21, of Bluffton, was traveling east on U.S. 124 near 400 E when he struck an Amish buggy driven by Mary M. Schwartz, 44, of Decatur.
The process to select a North Adams Board of Education member essentially is starting all over again after Decatur City Council on Tuesday deadlocked over its appointment, the final one the city will make before the board becomes one that is elected.

Harley L. “Pete” Bergman, 77, Decatur, passed away at his residence on Monday, April 16, 2012.
Harley was born in Jay County on January 21, 1935, to the late Oren and Minnie (Huey) Bergman.
On January 21, 1964, he married Roberta G. Manning. She preceded him in death on November 2, 2007.
Harley worked in construction for 37 years for Habegger Construction as a skilled mason.
Norma Jean C. Byerley, 78, of Yoder, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Ossian Health Care.
She was born on April 3, 1934, in Ossian to the late Emil and Margaret (Hinck) Springer.
She was a lifelong homemaker, and was a member at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Thiele Road. She enjoyed spending time with, and caring for, her family.
Josephine M. Christner, 92, of rural Geneva, died Monday in her home.
She was born to the late Jacob F. and Margarette (Schwartz) Schwartz.
Among survivors are sons Samuel J. (Emma) Christner of Monroe; Jacob J. (Mary) Christner of Berne; Levi J. (Martha) Christner of Geneva; Margaret (Tobe) Wickey of Geneva; Lizzie (Martin) Schwartz of Geneva; Fannie (Menno N.) Schwartz of Monroe; and Rebecca (Jacob L.) Wickey of Decatur; 76 grandchildren and 253 great-grandchildren.
Indiana Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman met with local Berne officials to tour the Munsterberg Clock Tower on Tuesday.
Skillman, who visited Berne in 2005 to discuss the city's plans for the tower, stated that she was very impressed with the new tower and the ambition with which the city approached the project.
Wanda J. Eyanson, 86, of Decatur, died at 1:55 a.m., today in Adams Memorial Hospital.
