Vera L. Balsiger, 72, of Berne, duied Thursday.
She was born to Harve and Fannie (Moser) Neuenschwander in Adams County.
Among survivors are her husband, George Balsinger, and two daughters, Tamra S. Liechty and Teri (Shawn) Walsh, both of Berne.
Visitation will be Saturday from 3-8 p.m. at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home Funeral. Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m., at the West Missionary with visitation one hour prior to services.
James B. Roop, 83, of Decatur, died at 4:46 a.m. today at the Hospice on Homestead Road, Fort Wayne.
Arrangements are pending at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.
Lena E. (Lengerich) Bennett, 85, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Swiss Village, in Berne.
Lena was born on November 8, 1926, in Portland to the late John and Louise (Schmidt) May.
On April 27, 1946, she married Richard B. Lengerich. He preceded her in death.
On July 26, 1995, she married her second husband, Winton J. Bennett. He also preceded her in death, on August 2, 1998.

PLEASANT LAKE, Ind. (AP) — A northeastern Indiana police officer shot in the face nearly six weeks ago says he is making steady improvement and hopes to eventually return to work.
‘‘If I’m able to return, that’s what I’m going to do,’’ Waterloo Deputy Marshal Steve Brady told The Star of Auburn on Monday. ‘‘I’m optimistic I’ll go back to work and continue to be a police officer. Time will tell.’’

Alvin Dewayne “Al” Colbert, 68, of Portland, died Monday in St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was the son of Albert Vaughn and Mary Margaret (Banter) Colbert.
Among survivors are a son, Gary Colbert, of Decatur, and three daughters, Tonia Benge, of Wilshire, Ohio; Teresa Painter, of Decatur; and Melissa Hunter, of Decatur.
Private family services will be held in Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland.
Darrell L. Gerig, 82, of Berne, passed away Tuesday January 24, 2012, at Swiss Village.
He was born to Ralph A. and Sylvia Marie (Niswander) Gerig on September 9, 1929.
He married Marilyn (Amstutz) on September 16, 1950; she survives.
