    The Adams Central School’s board of education has decided to part ways with the New Tech learning management system New Tech. The decision was made through a unanimous 7-0 vote Tuesday evening.

FCC (Adams) unveils expansion plans

    Berne City Council received good news regarding the look of local economic development Monday evening during its otherwise routine annual reviews of tax abatement agreements previously approved by the city.
    Officials from FCC (Adams) announced plans to expand the company, including $116.7 million for new state-of-the-art equipment, $11.9 million for a 140,000 square foot industrial building and approximately 73 new jobs over the next two years. That increase would bring the number of employees to more than 400.

Superintendent covers array of topics in State of NA Schools talk

    “We’re good!”
    That was the message North Adams Superintendent of Schools gave a group of area business leaders during the annual Decatur Chamber of Commerce State of the Schools address held Monday at Woodcrest.
    Taking a more serious tone, Lehman said the schools are part of the community, partnering with staff, parents, students and a variety of others in all that happens — not only in the school system, but in the surrounding area as well.

Tax bills in the mail

    It’s that time of year again.
    In a brief appearance before the Adams County Commissioners Monday, Treasurer Tom Krueckeberg said “tax bills are going out today.”  He said the mailing was a little behind last year, but thanked Auditor Mary Beery and her staff “for stepping up and getting us back on track.”

Lady Jets score big late; top BHS, 9-1

    MONROE— Three Adams Central homeruns broke open a close game in the bottom of the sixth Monday night as the Lady Jets defended their county bragging rights with a 9-1 decision over Bellmont.
    "We've been hitting the ball very good lately but the first five innings it didn't seem like it," noted AC coach Cary Blake.

Wastewater woes in Geneva could force crackdown

    Outgoing Geneva Clerk/Treasurer Barry Moore continued to encourage members of the Geneva Town Council to work toward drastically reducing the amount of water being illegally diverted into the town’s sanitary sewer system by Geneva residents at last week’s monthly council meeting.

Tons of fun at the SAFE carnival

    Victor and Naomi Byer were among the local youngsters to try different games and activities Saturday morning at Riverside Center during a carnival hosted by the  Supporting All Families Everyday — or SAFE — organization of Adams County. The event, part of Child Abuse Prevention Week, was sponsored by the Adams County Department of Child Services.

    In what has become the unofficial ringing in of the high school baseball season for Adams County, the fourth annual Coaches Versus Cancer Classic was a booming success at Bellmont on Saturday as all three county schools met up for a triple-header on what easily the best day for baseball yet this spring.
