Conditions were mostly on hold in Decatur and Adams County today as everyone waits to see what happens in the next 48 or so hours.
"Not a lot has changed. Everything that was closed yesterday is still closed today," Decatur Street/Sanitation Superintendent Jeremy Gilbert said early this morning.
Two more water rescues were performed on Tuesday by Decatur and Berne firefighters, with the Decatur rescue occurring several miles inside Ohio.
Decatur Fire Chief Les Marckel said the local firefighters were called out just before 6 p.m. to a location along the Harrison-Willshire Rd., near Willshire, Ohio, after an elderly woman drove into deep water and her car was swept an estimated 100 yards off the road into a farm field.
Marckel said the woman stayed in the car as the water reached up to the windows.
Esther Erxleben, 89, of Decatur, died at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday in Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 6, 1921, in Adams County to Fred and Lizzie Meier Bulmahn.
She married Lorenz Erxleben on May 2, 1943, in St. John Lutheran Church at Bingen; he passed away on August 17, 1986.

The streak is over!
The Bellmont Braves dispatched a 14-game losing streak by the wayside Tuesday night in the opening round of the class 3A sectional 22 boys basketball tournament at the Teepee by outlasting Maconaquah, a team that entered the tourney with a 14-6 record, by a 59-57 count in overtime.
BERNE — Bluffton built a 10-point lead over South Adams going into the fourth quarter of their Sectional 38 opener Tuesday, then Tigers' coach Kevin Leising pulled the plug as his squad successfully kept the ball away from the SA defenders in an eventual 50-31 victory at the Stardome.
The win puts the 14-6 Tigers in the 7:30 p.m. semi-final game against 2-18 Woodlan Friday night. Adams Central, 13-7, will take on state 2A power Bishop Luers, 16-4, in the 6 p.m. semi-final.
"For the most part, nothing has really changed overnight except we had a little water on E. Monroe St.," Decatur Street/Sanitation Superintendent Jeremy Gilbert said at 7:45 a.m. today.
E. Monroe St. was passable this morning and no water was on Monmouth and Piqua roads leading to Bellmont high and middle schools. US 224 at Jackson St. remained closed, however.
Two people were rescued from floodwaters in the past two hours: one in Adams County today and one in Jay County yesterday.
Some eight members of the Geneva Fire Department helped an unidentified local man and his horse escape from floodwater in the small northern Jay County community of New Corydon late Tuesday afternoon.

Aaron McClure really likes basketball. He played it a lot as a youth, still plays a bit as an adult, and has been a coach for 10 years or more at his alma mater.
However, as much as Adams Central's head coach (and very good former Flying Jet) enjoys the game, he was stone-faced serious when he talked about AC's sectional matchup with powerful Bishop Luers, winner of two of the last three Indiana Class 2A championships.
"How could you even consider getting rid of this," stated Bellmont wrestling coach Brent Faurote, minutes after his club was beaten by Penn, with the fiasco of a first-round match between Mater Dei and Crown Point finishing up on the next mat.
